Local sofa & furniture collection service in Selly Oak
Single-item collections in Selly Oak — sofas, mattresses, wardrobes, fridges, freezers, white goods — are what most people book us for when the council waiting list is too long. We come to your door, lift from any floor, and dispose responsibly under our waste carrier licence. We cover the whole of Selly Oak (B29) and can usually do same-day for jobs booked before midday.
Covering Bournbrook, Selly Park, Weoley Castle border, Bristol Road corridor and Dawlish Road area — and all of Selly Oak
Selly Oak is heavily student-let terraces around Bournbrook and the Bristol Road, which means huge turnover in June and July — mattresses, sofas and desks left behind at end of tenancy. Streets like Dawlish Road and Tiverton Road have residents' parking and narrow entries, so we schedule loading around lecture-time traffic.
Your options in Selly Oak
Landlords with tenancy change deadlines rarely fit the council's bulky-waste wait times; LV81 turns end-of-tenancy piles into a clean, photo-ready property the same day.
Book us this morning and we're often with you the same afternoon. We'll lift from wherever it is — attic, back garden, side alley — sweep up after, and email you the waste transfer note.
If you'd rather do it yourself, the nearest tip is Kings Norton HWRC (Birmingham City Council). Kings Norton is the closest Birmingham HWRC to B29 — booking and van permits apply.
Still weighing it up? Have a read of our West Midlands council bulky-waste comparison and our Birmingham household tip guide first — no obligation to book us either way.
What we take on a sofa & furniture collection job in Selly Oak
We're a fully licensed Environment Agency waste carrier (registration CBDU486387), so almost everything a normal household or small business in Selly Oak needs shifting, we can shift. Here's the honest list — what usually goes on the van, and the handful of things we can't legally take.
- •2-seater and 3-seater sofas, corner sofas, sofa-beds and recliners
- •Armchairs, footstools, ottomans and single-item lounge furniture
- •Mattresses and divan bases — single, double, king and super-king
- •Wardrobes, chests of drawers, dressing tables (dismantled if needed)
- •Fridges, freezers, washing machines and other white goods (WEEE compliant)
- •Any sofa openly infested with bedbugs — please tell us in advance and bag it, we can still help but it needs a different route
- •Items with obvious fire-damage residue or heavy mould — case-by-case
- •Fixed-in-place fitted furniture where dismantling needs a joiner (we can quote the two visits together)
A Selly Oak sofa collection is the simplest job we do. Send us a photo on WhatsApp, we give you a fixed quote, and we're usually with you same-day or next-day.
